This two-day workshop is facilitated by Donate Life Northwest, a nonprofit committed to educating residents of Oregon and Washington about organ, eye, and tissue donation and transplant. Participants who participate in this workshop must be currently on the kidney transplant waitlist at OHSU, Legacy, or the Portland VA. Participants are encouraged to have a support person join them during the sessions.
Waitlisted kidney patients and support partners of their choosing meet virtually as a group to learn about living donation and explore creative ways to extend their networks and seek a living donor.
Session 1 (September 21, 9am-12pm) will cover:
- Background information on living donation
- Building your support system
- A Q&A panel of living kidney donors and recipients
Session 2 (September 28, 9am-12pm) will cover:
- How to build your story
- Outreach ideas
- A Q&A panel of transplant center staff
By registering, you are signing up for both sessions. Space is limited. Registration closes September 8, 2024.
