NW Kidney Kids Quilt Workshop

NW Kidney Kids

A special quilt square workshop that we'll be hositng for NW Kidney Kids' families. Are you familiar with NW Kidney Kids or have you participated in their camp? If yes, let us know if you would like to come to this event. This workshop is an opportunity for those with no quilting experience to gain guidance in creating their square, as well as to meet our community of volunteers. Each year in April, during National Donate Life month, Donate Life Northwest unveils a new Threads of Life Quilt.

Lifesavers Breakfast

Donate Life Northwest invites you to attend our annual Lifesavers Breakfast!  Every dollar raised during this event goes directly toward educating and increasing the number of registered donors in the Pacific Northwest.  Come out and support your community during this unique and inspirational gathering: those waiting, those who have received, those who have given, and the donation professionals who save lives and improve health in our region.

When: Wednesday, November 12, 2014. Doors open at 6:30am and program begins promptly at 7:30am.

Where: Oregon Convention Center, Portland Ballroom, Portland, OR.

Breakfast is provided.  Guests will be asked to make a financial contribution to support our school, community, and DMV outreach programs.

National Donor Sabbath

National Donor Sabbath is observed annually on Friday through Sunday two weekends before Thanksgiving. This three-day observance seeks to include the days of worship for major religions practiced in the United States:

Movie Screening of Perfect Strangers @ The Hollywood Theater

On Sunday, November 16th, Donate Life Northwest will host a screening of Perfect Strangers, a documentary that follows an anonymous kidney donor for 4 years during her quest to donate. The premier will take place on Sunday, November 16th at 2pm at the Hollywood Theater. The film will be followed by a panel discussion comprised of the director living donors and recipients. Lane County Quilt Square Workshop

This Lane County workshop is an opportunity for those with no quilting experience to gain guidance in creating their square, as well as to meet our community of volunteers. Each year in April, during National Donate Life month, Donate Life Northwest unveils a new Threads of Life Quilt. The quilts are dedicated to the memory of those who gave the gift of life, sight and mobility. They also celebrate the lives of transplant recipients and offer hope to those awaiting transplant.  Each quilt is comprised of individually-designed squares created by people touched by organ, eye, and tissue donation. Come out to this Springfield workshop and create a square for this coming year's Threads of Life Quilt. RSVP link coming soon.
