Get Involved
Ideas to increase donor designations
There are numerous ways to get involved with Donate Life Northwest and help educate people about organ, eye and tissue donation and the donor registry. Some examples include:
- Set up educational displays in your school or at civic clubs, place of worship or community events. Display materials and the emotional “Threads of Life” quilts are available by reservation. By staffing an information table, you can help educate people about donation and transplantation and the donor registry.
- Create a “Gift of Life” garden in your community. The garden can be dedicated to donors and their families and can serve as a reminder of the lives that have been saved or enhanced by organ and tissue donation.
- Request an Donate Life Northwest speaker for your school, civic or youth group. We will work with your teachers or group sponsor to arrange the details.
- Submit an article to your school newspaper. Use one of Donate Life Northwest’s suggested articles, or interview a recipient or donor family yourself for a personal story.
- Host a Registry party. See left hand tab for details.
- Fulfill volunteer or senior/scout project requirements.
