Number of registered donors in Oregon January 1, 2012:
2,180,919
Donate Life Northwest subscribes to the importance of tracking and evaluating program outcomes, the most obvious and important outcome being the number of lives saved through donation and transplantation.
The number of registered donors matters. When an individual documents on a donor registry their decision to be a donor, their family is relieved of the burden of making the donation decision at the time of their loves one's death.
Knowing whether an outreach effort is efficient and effective and how Donate Life Northwest program outcomes compare to those in other states is a barometer used for program planning and tailoring.
Donate Life America maintains a national dashboard, updated quarterly. It tracks the number of organ, eye and tissue donors and how many were signed up on a donor registry. The rate at which a state's population is signing up as donors and the percent of the state's licensed drivers on the donor registry is also tracked.
