Kidney Month Community Celebration: DLNW Volunteers Needed

Registration is closed for this event

Volunteer with DLNW at the Kidney Month Community Celebration at Portland State University. 87% of those on the transplant waiting list are waiting for a kidney. Help us support our multicultural community at this important event. Volunteers are needed to help set up, staff, and take down an information & outreach table. Spanish speakers are especially needed. Come share your story and support our kidney community!

Volunteer Shift: 10:30 am - 3:15 pm

Can't make it to volunteer, but want to attend the event? Check out the details below!

Kidney Month Community Celebration
Kidney Health For All -Caring for People, Protecting the Planet

Families will have the opportunity to visit resource tables hosted by local organizations, with many sharing information on kidney health, prevention, transplantation, organ donation, and patient support, while others provide more general community resources focused on health, wellness, and family services. There will also be dedicated time for community connection, creating space for families to connect with one another and build relationships with participating organizations in a relaxed, welcoming environment. Family-friendly elements and simple activities will be included to ensure families of all ages can attend comfortably and feel supported.

This event also aims to strengthen community and trust by creating a safe space where families, advocates, and organizations can connect and build long-term relationships, while ensuring the gathering remains inclusive and bilingual so families feel welcomed regardless of language, background, or stage in their kidney journey.
