A longtime volunteer, Maria became Latino Outreach Coordinator at DLNW in July 2018. She is passionate about sharing her experience, knowledge and strength with the Latino community – and she has a lot to offer.
The Threads of Life Quilts are dedicated to the memory of those who gave the gift of life, sight, and mobility. They also celebrate the lives of transplant recipients and offer hope to those awaiting transplants. Each quilt is comprised of individually-designed squares created by community members touched by organ, eye, and tissue donation.
The quilts are not only a beautiful and inspiring tribute, but also serve as a thought-provoking testament to the fact that organ, eye, and tissue donation and transplantation transform lives.
If you are interested in making a quilt square, join us at this virtual workshop! Our amazing quilters will join the workshop, and they will give you ideas and suggestions on how to create a quilt square. The workshop will also provide a good chance to connect with others in your community who have had their lives touched by donation and transplantation.
We suggest you visit: guide on how to make a quilt square before the workshop for materials you may need and helpful tips.
