Organ, Eye and Tissue Donations Improve Health and Save Lives
"When you find out your child is going to need a transplant, it's the first time as a parent you feel like there's nothing you can do," Hayley Resk's mom, Julie, explains.
Hayley is now a healthy college graduate, but the Resks know that other children will not survive the desperate wait for transplant. That’s why they continue to pay it forward, volunteering to help build a culture of appreciation for donation at West Linn and other high schools.
Ambassadors like the Resks have helped register nearly 2.4 million people, at rates far surpassing most of the country. As our Donate Life Northwest family celebrates these accomplishments, we also remember that the need is still great, and everyone must do their part to bring hope to those who wait.
