Sunny's Pedal

Calling all bike enthusiasts!  It’s time to start training for Sunny’s Pedal, a 650 mile bike ride from Spokane, Washington to Sun Valley, Idaho.  Get ready for grueling climbs and breathtaking scenery as you pedal to raise awareness for organ and tissue donation!

Sunny’s Pedal is an event organized by her family.  August 18^th marks the 20^th anniversary of Sunny’s death.  She was on her way home to Sun Valley when she died in a car accident at the age of 17.  Her family decided to honor her generous spirit by donating her organs and tissue.  As her family writes:

Sunny Lebsack was described by many as an "old soul." Kind and generous beyond the normal 17 year old.  In life, she was truly the type of person who made the world a better place.  This generous act [of donating] helped not only the recipients and their families, but also Sunny's family and friends.  Watching Sunny continue to give in death helped with the grieving process.
